Hauraki Plains College Waikato
Agriculture Teacher
- Full time
- Permanent
- Suitable for beginning teachers
About the role
The Hauraki Plains has a rich farming history, and ensuring our young people can access this future pathway matters to our school and community.
As we look ahead to 2027, we are seeking an Agriculture Teacher to join our team. Hauraki Plains College is funded for a Trades Academy and currently delivers a range of Agriculture and Horticulture programmes to approximately 300 students. Please note any additional curriculum areas you can teach.
Our college has a collaborative and supportive staff culture and is committed to our vision: Excellence is Our Tradition. Ongoing professional learning and development is a valued part of how we grow and respond to the needs of our students and the evolving education landscape.
Through the Haurakian Charitable Trust, we have access to a 25-acre farm located just 300 metres from the school, where much of our practical teaching takes place. There are long-term plans for the development of this farm, including the possible relocation of an old council depot building to be used as a teaching space.
Hauraki Plains is a great place to live and work, and we enjoy strong connections with our local primary schools and wider community. A school house may be available for rent.
This is a full-time permanent teaching position, beginning 27 January 2027. You are very welcome to come and visit.
