Year 7 and 8 Teacher

Carisbrook School is searching for a dynamic, inspiring, unshakeable Year 7 and 8 teacher to join our awesome team in 2027.

This is the crew at the top of the school, our rangatahi who are confident, curious, full of opinions, and very sure they’re nearly adults. Your mission (should you choose to accept it): help shape them into outstanding young people who are ready to take on high school… and the world.

What you’ll be:

teaching a sharp, enthusiastic group of Year 7 and 8 learners who love to lead, question, create, and occasionally debate the correct way to eat Weet-Bix

helping develop leadership skills through whānau roles, responsibilities, and opportunities around the kura

buiding them through the joys of adolescence: growth spurts, new shoes every term, and next-level banter

working alongside a passionate team committed to excellence, equity, wellbeing, and the power of good humour.

Who we’re looking for:

Teachers who thrive on challenge, connection, and inspiring young adolescents

Someone confident with curriculum, behaviour support, and building strong relationships

A team player who brings warmth, mana, and a few good jokes to the staffroom

Must be a New Zealand resident (local legends only this time!)

Beginning teachers are welcome, enthusiasm and heart go a long way at this level.
