About the role

Come and grow with us.

Something exciting is happening at Te Kura Kōtuku ko Lauriston-Lauriston School. With our roll growing by around 20% over the past two years, we are expanding to five classroom teachers in 2027 and seeking an exceptional teacher to join our team for a permanent full time teaching role. Year level will be confirmed.

At Lauriston, children are at the centre of everything we do. We are proud of a culture where excellent teaching matters: where teachers know their learners deeply, hold high expectations, think critically about their practice and continually develop their pedagogical knowledge to make a difference for every child.

You will join an experienced, highly professional and collaborative team who care deeply about their craft and about one another. We value professional dialogue, shared learning, evidence-informed practice, creativity and the different strengths each person brings. Strong relationships with tamariki and whānau sit alongside excellent literacy and mathematics practice and a genuine commitment to inclusion and belonging.

Our local curriculum, Te Marautanga o Te Kura Kōtuku ko Lauriston, connects learning to our place, our people and the wider world. Our READY values shape a school culture where achievement, relationships, wellbeing and citizenship matter.

This vacancy carries a Teacher Bonding Scheme placement. Teachers who meet Ministry eligibility and continuous-service requirements can receive annual lump-sum payments, accumulating to a maximum of $40,000 before tax over five years.

We welcome applications from experienced and beginning teachers. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who will bring something of themselves to Lauriston and grow alongside us.

Visits are warmly encouraged – come and meet our team, see our practice in action and experience our kura for yourself.

He maunga, he tangata; he maunga, he tangata.

Every mountain is a person and represents the heights of potential.
