About the role

Ōmāhu Kura is located in the heart of Ōmāhu, surrounded by our 3 marae, our maunga, and the awa that connect us all. Our kura is deeply connected to this whenua, and we honour the strength of these ties as we support and guide our tamariki.

Ūtaina Ōmāhu – To live for our people, serve our hapū, and contribute to generations to come.

Me Ōmāhu te tū – To stand tall as learners, leaders, and kaitiaki, proud of who we are, where we come from, and the values that guide us.

At Ōmāhu Kura, our kāwai (values) of kaitiakitanga, manaakitanga, rangatiratanga, and whanaungatanga guide everything we do. These kāwai are embedded within our strategic goals.

Rangatiratanga – “Our people are our strength”

Building strong and meaningful relationships with whānau, marae, hapū, and iwi to ensure every ākonga and kaiako thrives.

Ōmāhutanga – “I know where I am”

Implementing a rich, responsive, and localised curriculum that connects tamariki to our whenua, people, and environment.

Tuakiritanga – “I know who I am and where I come from”

Strengthening wellbeing and resilience so that tamariki grow with confidence, pride, and empowerment in their identity.
