Rūmaki Reo teacher Y3-5 for 2023

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated teacher to join our Rūmaki Reo team, Mōkai Āwhina, teaching a class of Y3–5 tamariki. This position is fixed-term commencing 28 January 2023 and ending on 20 December 2023. 

Students in Mōkai Āwhina are fully immersed in Te Reo Māori. Our goal is that by the end of Year 8 students will be bilingual and biliterate in both Māori and English. Fluency in Te Reo Māori is essential for this position.

We are a well-resourced school currently focusing on language development and integrating Assessment for Learning pedagogy across the curriculum. Our ideal applicant would be familiar with Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, have good communication skills, ability to form reciprocal, learning focused relationships with students and whānau, and be willing to continue to learn and plan collaboratively with colleagues.
