We are a new purpose built farm based early learning service based in Levin. Our centre has two buildings, one of which has our nursery, two and three year old tamariki and the other building is for our four year old tamariki.

We are based in a semi-rural setting with four spacious classrooms and playgrounds and a farm where we have a range of animals for our tamariki to interact with and feed. Tamariki also have opportunities to ride our miniature pony!

We have an opportunity for a fantastic kaiako to join our teaching team. We are looking for the following:

Key responsibilities

  • Actively participate and implement assessment and planning that faciliates tamariki to achieve their learning outcomes
  • Promote learning opportunities which are inclusive, equitable and culturally responsive
  • Document tamariki learning and be responsible for tamariki profile books and their learning journey throughout our centre
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Actively contribute to internal reviews.

Skills and experience:

  • Current registration with the New Zealand Teachers' Council
  • An ability to work within a large team
  • Self-management skills; planning, organising, time management and punctuality
  • Excellent communication skills and a "can-do" attitude
  • Confidence and commitment to working in collaboration with parents and whanau
  • The ability to use initiative and a commitment to quality practice standards and the principles of Te Whāriki
  • The ability to be able to work in a flexible teaching and learning environment.

Benefits

  • We offer free childcare (if applicable)
  • We offer a mentoring and guidance programme and a professional growth cycle to support kaiako with their growth and professional practice
  • Paid first aid
  • Paid PLD opportunities.

If you are energetic and embrace a respectful, inclusive culture, we would love to hear from you.
