We are looking for an Area Leader to join our Education & Innovation team.  This role will report to our General Manager Education & Innovation, the Area Leader is pivotal in engaging and leading our Kindergarten teams across Tāmaki Makaurau. The team comprises of eight Area Leaders. 

The role

The Area Leader is responsible for the operational performance and outcomes for their respective cluster. This involves working in partnership with the Head Teachers/Centre Managers in building high performing positive team culture. The position has 15 direct reports, and has operational budget accountability within the assigned Central West Auckland cluster. 

The role is based at our Support Services Office in Queen Street, but regular travel is required to visit kindergartens within the assigned cluster.  

You will have a strong working knowledge of Te Whāriki 2017 and curriculum implementation.

About you

An experienced ECE people leader- with previous ECE centre management or multi-site management, your positive leadership style and proven ability to engage, build trust, coach, and motivate diverse groups will see you succeed in this pivotal leadership role. 

Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of best practice ECE education is highly essential for this role. You are passionate about building teams; use data effectively to identify improvements; are analytical, logical; and a confident communicator and effective relationship builder. Most importantly, you understand how accountability and effective decision making plays an integral role in positive engagement and achieving outcomes.
