Senior advisor ESOL

About this role

We have a unique opportunity to join our national ESOL, Migrant, Refugee and International team to support the development of Ministry capability with ESOL provision in schools.

We are recruiting for a full-time, permanent senior advisor ESOL. This is a national role supporting ESOL provision throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and will be based in the Maungawhau (Mt Eden) office in Auckland.

In this role you will support ESOL provision in the primary sector. You will oversee the provision of ESOL resources and support material, manage professional development contracts and provide guidance for Ministry of Education colleagues.

About you

You will bring expertise in:

• Understanding principles and theories of second language acquisition
• Understanding educational needs of culture and language diverse students in primary schools
• Communicating clearly with a range of stakeholders
• Influencing others to work collaboratively to achieve outcomes.
