Horeke is a small kura on the southern shores of the Hokianga Harbour. We provide Y1–Y8 education in an idyllic school setting.
We seek a highly motivated and passionate teaching principal who can confidently lead the school while ensuring our tamariki are getting the best learning inside and outside the classroom.
The successful applicant must work efficiently and collaboratively with staff, whānau, board and the community.
Our learning journey at Horeke School has evolved over the years and our learning culture is strong and well developed. Growing student agency and competent digital natives through the utilisation of the school localised curriculum has seen positive momentum over the past few years.
Requirements
Valid NZ teacher registration
Knowledge of all curriculum areas and can work across curriculum levels in a multi-levelled classroom
Demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, displaying a high degree of cultural competence and responsiveness
Commitment to learn and maintain te reo o Ngapuhi/Matauranga Māori.
A high performing leader of innovative learning with the ability to build on the strong learning relationships already in existence, can live up to our tamariki expectations, that teaching and learning should be an amazing race.
