Classroom teacher Y5

Fixed-term position 12 months.

Our teacher is going on maternity leave, so we are looking for an experience teacher who has taught in the Y4–6 level. The role commences in term 1.

We are seeking a teacher with excellent knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and with strong pedagogical practices. 

• Experience teaching at the Y4–6 school level
• Effective teaching, learning and assessment practice
• Deep respect for and understanding of cultural diversity in Aotearoa New Zealand
• Positive and affirming working relationships with students, staff and families / whānau
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• Evidence of meeting professional expectations as outlined in Our Code Our Standards - Nga Tikanga Matatika Nga Paerewa 

We are an Islamic state integrated school in West Auckland. Our special character is an integral part of who we are. 

From term 1, we will cater for 240+ students from Y1–8, with an aim to extend to Y10 over time. 

We teach the New Zealand Curriculum along with special character subjects including the Arabic language, Quran and Islamic studies. 

As a teacher in our school, you will be expected to uphold the values and expectations of its special character.
