We are looking for a qualified and experienced centre manager to lead our team of highly skilled and talented teachers.

We are a community early learning service licensed for 32 tamāriki. We are committed to providing a home-like feel where we support and work in partnership with our community. Quality care and education is our ethos, where tamāriki feel loved, supported, develop friendships, have fun, and are encouraged to learn and develop to their greatest potential. 

As a passionate and experienced leader, you will wear many hats to allow you to manage an ever-evolving environment and be resilient and flexible to meet a variety of needs. You will have an effective, compassionate and respectful presence, providing mentoring and role modelling exceptional teaching practice to the team.  

Role requirements: 

  • BEd/Dip teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification 
  • Proven leadership experience, you will love to lead, mentor, and have experience getting work done through others!
  • Knowledge of New Zealand Teaching Council, ERO, MOE requirements, Licensing Criteria, 2008 regulations, policy development, code of ethics and Te Whāriki (localised curriculum)
  • Comprehensive understanding of how to maintain and grow occupancy levels
  • Flexible, innovative, resilient, committed and passionate! 
  • Financial knowledge, i.e. budgets, grant applications
  • Evidence of building a reputable status within your community
  • Can work in a multi-cultural learning environment, supporting the development of te reo Māori, Tikanga and Pacifica
  • Experience working in partnership with a Management committee.

The role is 25 hours per week. (Monday to Friday). Days and times are flexible.
