This is a full-time leadership position for a qualified teacher, to support and meet the needs of our diverse learners based at Ōtaki College.
This is an exciting opportunity for an effective classroom practitioner and/or SENCO with a proven record of success in meeting the needs of diverse learners.
A heart for learners who have a wide range of specific learning difficulties is essential. The ability to work collaboratively is vital as this role involves leading a team of teacher aides, working closely with the teachers, the learning support coordinator, families and other agencies as well as supporting individual learners.
You will need:

To be able to prioritise and be flexible to meet the daily needs of the college

A proven record of meeting the needs of diverse learners in your classroom
To be a qualified teacher with a current New Zealand practising certificate
To be able to adapt the New Zealand Curriculum.

The following experience will be an advantage:
Understanding of NCEA
Adapting learning programmes, resources and environment
Conducting and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEP).
Start date will be term 1.
