Kindergarten kaiako / teacher

We have an exciting opportunity for a kaiako to join our team in a parental leave position.

Central Kids Te Ara Mātauranga follow the lead and interest of tamariki. Kaiako work alongside tamariki allowing them time to explore and consider their own ideas and theories, while encouraging problem solving and developing skills in social and emotional competence, supporting tamariki with strategies and role modelling expectations.

Our learning environment is purposefully arranged to allow tamariki greater opportunities for uninterrupted work and play.

About you:

• A motivated, enthusiastic teacher, who is able to put current theory into practice
• Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Te Whāriki
• Committed to te reo māori me ona tikanga, te tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori
• Able to work within a team who have a strong commitment to supporting the social and emotional growth of tamariki
• Able to demonstrate a growth mindset, be open and willing to change that enables us to continue providing high-quality early education to all tamariki who attend our services
• ECE qualified and hold current certification and a current first aid certificate. 

The COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021 requires that only a double vaccinated person may work in this role.
