Established in 1997, Newstead Country Preschool is a private preschool situated on 15 acres of bush clad gully and farmland on the edge of Hamilton. We are a small mixed age centre with exceptional ratios with 1:3 for infants 1:4 for toddlers and 1:6 for O3s. We believe in small group sizes with a total licence size of 37 we have 3–6 infants, 8–12 toddlers with 18–24 big kids.

Our curriculum focuses on making the most of our amazing natural setting to help children to connect with papatuanuku. We pride ourselves on providing tamariki with authentic experiences on the farm and in the bush everyday, and growing resilient, confident, and independent little people.

We are looking for an energetic, motivated teacher who has a positive outlook, is well-organised, has an appreciation for papatuanuku. You will have sounds theoretical and pedagogical knowledge to drive learning stories, reviews and programme planning and confidence with technology. We are looking for a teacher who will be committed to supporting children’s learning and development through intentional planning and inquiry, be kind, and nurturing, passionate, flexible, and a great team player with strong communication skills.

Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years teaching experience in an ECE centre and preferably their full teacher certification, however exceptional provisionally certificated teachers are welcome to apply. You must have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
