Early learning kaiako

We are a privately owned and well-established small whānau centre. We provide a friendly and supportive working environment; where each kaiako is highly valued, respected, and their well-being is our priority. Our excellent teacher to child ratios opens a world of wonderous opportunities for tamariki to explore, learn, discover, and develop agency over their own learning.

We have an exciting opportunity in the O2s area, for a part-time qualified kaiako to join our Lilliput whānau. This position would suit someone wanting to work in with school hours. We are looking for a loving and kind kaiako who has true passion and energy for teaching and caring, so all our tamariki can flourish as they explore, learn, and play at their own pace. The kaiako must demonstrate initiative and be confident and passionate about providing a high standard of teaching and care. The kaiako needs to be confident to maintain an environment which builds respectful relationships with our tamariki, whānau, and kaiako, have knowledge of Te Whāriki and current research, is committed to on-going development, and who is a team player.

The kaiako we are looking for will have:

• A NZ teacher qualification, current ECE teaching registration and a current first aid certificate
• High level of initiative
• A genuine passion, joy, and energy for teaching young tamariki
• A kind, friendly, enthusiastic, caring, and calm personality
• Proficient communication skills
• The ability to establish relationships based on trust and respect.
• Ability and flare to write learning stories, and use these to plan and promote children's holistic development
• ICT knowledge.
