Situated near the beach in Coastlands, a short five-minute drive from Whakatane, Coastlands Preschool is proud to be Whakatane’s most spacious preschool – we have over twice the required space, inside and out, allowing our tamariki plenty of room to play and learn. We also make use of our lovely community, venturing to the local parks and twice weekly 'beach school' days for our older tamariki.

What we need from you:

• Be an experienced teacher (registered, teacher in training or experience unqualified teacher)
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Te Whāriki and how to use this to create our own centre curriculum
• Have confidence in both individual and group planning
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills including being efficient on a computer
• Be passionate about creating inspiring environments
• Be motivated and have an enthusiastic can-do attitude
• Demonstrate respect in all relationships
• A willingness to take initiative
• Knowledge of loose parts and urges a bonus, but not required.

This position is five days a week but there is some flexibility with the hours involved. We have some degree of flexibility with the age this position will be working with.

The position will commence in term 1.
