We are a small full primary school in the heart of the beautiful Catlins in South Otago. Our small student numbers allow us to have individual learning programmes in order to grow healthy, active learners.
Our school vision ‘From small seeds grow first giants’ reflects our beliefs that even though we are a small school, we still firmly believe that our students will embrace challenges and become leaders in whatever they choose to do in the future.
Check us out on Tahakopa School – From Small Seeds Grow Forest Giants. We have great tamariki, top staff, a supportive board and a welcoming active community. After years of fabulous mahi, our much loved principal is moving on and we are now seeking a new teaching principal to lead us into the future, commencing as soon as able in term 1 or 2.
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative teacher and natural, visionary leader who:
Is visible, approachable and fully engaged with our tamariki, whānau and community
Will further develop and implement our localised curriculum, building the emphasis on tikanga and te reo
Is passionate about teaching Y1–8 in a mixed-age setting
Has a strong pedagogical base
Has a love for the outdoors and environment.
We have a comfortable 3-bedroom school house available with the role.
