Experienced new entrant junior school teacher 

Start date: term 1 2022, to be negotiated depending on availability.

Haeata Community Campus is a vibrant urban area school located in the heart of beautiful Christchurch East. We are seeking an experienced, motivated and passionate junior classroom teacher who is dedicated to fostering learning and wellbeing to join our innovative learning community.

• Love ākonga/students and be a lifelong learner
• Embody the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• Uphold the values of Haeata Community Campus
• Cater for the collective education and wellbeing of all Haeata, specifically ākonga turning five and transitioning to kura
• Establish positive relationships with our early childhood centres
• Be confident in the implementation of the New Zealand Curriculum and hold strengths in literacy, mathematics, culturally responsive practice
• Be a highly effective teaching strategist
• Be competent in teaching oral language, reading, writing and literacy across the curriculum and have strong systems and structures around a building a successful new entrant programme
• Demonstrate an ability to build strong relationships with ākonga/students, whānau families and kaimahi/staff 
• Have strong behaviour management skills
• Employ a relational approach that is strength-based and solutions focused
• Meaningfully integrate te reo Māori and Te ao Māori as well as our rich cultural narrative in learning opportunities for ākonga
• Have experience in working in a collaborative team in a MLE environment.
