Port Ahuriri School is a high-achieving learning community with a well informed and highly enthusiastic teaching team. Our long-established Montessori class requires a new teacher, and we are looking to add a positive, enthusiastic, and hardworking person to our team.

The successful applicant will foremost build and develop highly effective and positive relationships with children. An awareness, understanding and commitment to being responsive to children’s varied needs is essential. You will demonstrate a sound understanding of curriculum and effective pedagogy and practice, within the Montessori environment.

While this position is in our Montessori class, this class is established and integrated within the wider context of our overall school. You must be willing to be part of the wider school practices and be willing to work as a culturally responsive practitioner.

You must have exceptional classroom management skills. While Montessori experience is desired, we would consider any applicant who can demonstrate they have a willingness to learn and train in Montessori practice.
