We seek a deputy principal to join our management team and learning community. The successful applicant will need an in-depth knowledge of the NZ Curriculum, including experience in developing a cultural and responsive field-based STEAM curriculum. Meaningful use of digital technology would be beneficial. The deputy principal will oversee the curriculum and assessment practices of the Academy.
Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori knowledge is an advantage.

Te Aratika Academy is a designated character school for boys aged 14 to 18 years. Located in beautiful Hawke's Bay, the Academy focuses on providing a link between education and future employment through vocational pathways. The Academy operates small class sizes and has a very supportive staff environment, including strong pastoral care support for students.
The successful applicants will be enthusiastic about working with youth and have the skills and mindset to facilitate all manner of learning with predominantly Māori and Pasifika students.
The successful applicant will be required to contribute to the extra-curricular programme at the Academy through sport and/or the arts.
