Port Ahuriri School is a high-achieving learning community with a well informed and highly enthusiastic teaching team. We are looking to add a positive, enthusiastic, chilled, yet hard working teacher to our team in our Y4–6 (Aoraki) hub.

The successful applicant will foremost build and develop highly effective and positive relationships with children. An awareness, understanding and commitment to being responsive to children’s varied needs is highly desirable. You will demonstrate a sound understanding of curriculum and effective pedagogy, with strengths in designing rich, authentic learning related to students interests and passions, within a collaborative learning space.

You must have exceptional classroom management skills to work in a 3-teacher learning hub and be open to professional development opportunities in structured literacy, STEM and culturally responsive and relational practice.

Management units may be available for health/PE or innovative projects.

The start date is preferably term 1, 2022, however this date is highly flexible for the right candidate.
