We are seeking a qualified, experienced and NZAC registered guidance counsellor to work full-time - 4 days from school and 1 day from home as part of our Ako@Home programme. The ideal candidate will be passionate and confident working with young people, preferably from a narrative approach and put in place interventions that inspire, motivate and enable change for good. A commitment to our culture of care is essential. They will also be able to build and maintain effective networks within school, with whanau and external agencies as appropriate.
Teaching registration is an advantage, but is not essential.
This is a permanent position which is to commence at the beginning of term 1, 31 January 2022 or by negotiation. You would be responsible for counselling students from Y9-13 and must be able to work collaboratively and proactively with our students, parents, staff and wider school community, and closely with our school youth workers, deans and senior leadership team.
The successful applicant will be required to support and uphold the special Catholic character of the college, and participate in the school's co-curricular and extracurricular programme.
