We are seeking someone with initiative, and leadership skills, who is experienced in kura aa Iwi and is a current practitioner. As part of our kaupapa as a kura aa Iwi, the kaiako will also have to be committed to attending kaupapa aa Iwi. Year level negotiable but preferable in junior area.
The following skills and attributes are essential:
Knowledge of kura aa Iwi, kaupapa Maaori, kiingitanga,
Knowledge of second language acquisition
PB4L, incredible years
Is an effective teacher
Is proficient in curriculum planning
Has excellent communication skills
Is able to relate well to children
Has good administrative and management skills
Can maintain good community relations
Is honest and a person of integrity
Will keep up to date with education legislation and current developments in curriculum
Has full teacher registration or working towards full registration.
