Edgewater College is a co-educational, state secondary school in Central / East Auckland, offering a future focused, strength-based curriculum from Y9-13. We serve a diverse urban community with students from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
We are looking for a passionate and inspiring teacher to join our Futures Department, teaching our senior Industry Pathways courses. These courses are unit standard based and strongly linked to our vocational pathways programmes, including Gateway and supporting students into work and / or apprenticeships.
Our school values of māia | courage, manaakitanga | care and manawa reka | curiosity underpin our teaching and learning, and your ability to teach based on these values as well as culturally sustaining and restorative practices is an expectation.
We offer a caring and inclusive teaching and learning environment, as well as a range of opportunities for personal and professional development. As a learning community we are always looking at ongoing improvement, so a positive attitude to learning and change is essential.
Applicants must be NZ registered teachers and be fully conversant with the NZ Curriculum and NCEA requirements.
This is a part time, fixed term position to commence term 1, 2022 or by agreement. Please also see our full time advertisement for an applicant looking to lead our Gateways programme in addition to these teaching responsibilities.
