Healthy active learning advisor – Waitaki
We are looking for a healthy active learning advisor to be based in the Waitaki region who can play a critical role in the implementation of healthy active learning, a joint government initiative between Sport New Zealand and the Ministries of Health and Education.
As the healthy active learning advisor, you will support school leaders and teachers of targeted primary and intermediate schools to:
- Better plan and implement the health and physical education and hauora curriculum
- Identify, and develop opportunities for quality play, sport, and physical activity experiences for tamariki
- Advise on how to establish healthy behaviours and environments through supporting the adoption and implementation of healthy food and water-only policies.
This includes developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with schools, and community health and physical activity providers to ensure a connected and coordinated approach to health and wellbeing outcomes for our tamariki.
The healthy active learning advisor will need to be based in the Waitaki region, be trained teachers or have experience in the education sector with extensive knowledge of the NZ Curriculum, have a growth mindset, a passion for physical activity, display social/emotional intelligence, embrace inclusivity and diversity and be able to have courageous conversations to achieve desired results.
