An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Waimea Kindergarten, working alongside a team of experienced and passionate kaiako. Waimea Kindergarten are looking for a part-time, permanent teacher. Experience working with children from 2–6 years, along with a strength in bicultural practice, te reo and ngā tikanga Māori, assessment and planning is desirable. In addition, knowledge around respectful practices, supporting children’s wellbeing would be beneficial.

Located on the Waimea campus alongside local schools, this kindergarten has 2 buildings, Te Puna with 30 children and Te Awa with 40 children. The teaching team aim to create an inclusive play-based learning environment that empowers and respects children and their whānau in their lifelong learning journey.

Statement of intent:

Children will leave Waimea Kindergarten with skills, dispositions and attitudes for lifelong learning.
