This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to join our kura and share their story telling skills.  We are looking for someone with an indepth knowledge of the Aotearoa Histories Curriculum and the ability to bring these stories to life.  This is a chance to inspire our students to learn about their local area, our wider community and what it means to be a treaty citizen.

The successful applicant will have a home room class of year 7 and 8 students  who you will see each day as well as teaching your specialist subject across the school.  You will successfully implement tikanga practices into your teaching and be able to work well within a diverse community. A hands on approach with a focus on telling, sharing, re-enacting our stories is important.  We want our students to aspire to be the kaitiaki of our area.  

Local knowledge will be essential.  The ability to speak te reo will be an advantage as will the ability to guide our  kapa haka group.   We have a strong team who are supportive and value collaboration.
