The successful applicant needs to be able to contribute to curriculum leadership, with a focus on supporting technologies and STEM. There needs to be flexibility in day-to-day practice to cater for our students ongoing social and emotional needs. A knowledge of relationship-based learning, and/or wiliness to engage in this professional learning (Teaching to the Northeast, R Bishop). Teaching level will be flexible, but experience in structured literacy will support this, no matter where in the school the successful applicant teaches. We are developing a local curriculum which reflects our local history, tikanga and the uniqueness of a range of iwi stories from Te Tau Ihu. Use of te reo, tikanga Māori and shared kaupapa a must. Open and willingness to engage with whānau and engage with support agencies will be beneficial to all.
