We are looking for a dynamic Deputy Principal - Culture to support us with advancing and realising our vision of student success at Manawatū College. This new role has been created to sit alongside two other Deputy Principals (one with strategic responsibility for ‘Teaching’, the other for ‘Learning’).
Student learning and improvement is at the centre of everything we do, and we invite applications from educational leaders who have a deep understanding of the best practice required to raise achievement through effective pastoral care systems that enhance student wellbeing.
This fixed-term leadership opportunity would be suited to both emerging and experienced leaders who would like to contribute to the educational success of our learners. We would welcome your application if you have:
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, culturally responsive practice and te reo Māori. Strong connections to local iwi/ mana whenua would be an advantage
An ability to build teacher leadership through coaching and mentoring
A willingness to be reflective, to receive feedback, and to be open to learning
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills that foster positive relationships within the school and wider school community
A dedication to continuous improvement
A passion for education that is inspiring, collaborative and forward-thinking
Experience with restorative practice and a commitment to build relationships in a way that enhances the mana of others
