Hastings Girls' High School seeks an experienced leader of Ngā Ara Reo me ōna Tikanga to lead a new department at the school.

The growth of Te Reo Māori, Samoan, Spanish and English language learning has led the school to form a new department in which teachers in these areas can share curriculum design, pedagogy and have a strong leadership voice in the school.

Hastings Girls' High School was recently the recipient of the Prime Minister's Excellence Award for leadership as a result of the development of the school as a space in which Māori and Pasifika flourish and lead, and teachers' work leading a new, innovative curriculum.
