We are seeking a focused, energetic leader of learning who understands the diverse and unique needs of emerging adolescence and our multicultural community. You must have a strong knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and culturally responsive and relational pedagogy. The ability to develop positive relationships with students and staff and our community would be essential.  

This role works with and influences the school’s leadership teams in order to support learning outcomes for our akonga.

This permanent role will:

  • Support ākonga/students through building an inclusive school or kura and cluster environment which encourages participation, progress and successful transitions
  • Support kaiako/teachers in schools and kura to lift their capability to better meet the needs of learners, and to strengthen their connections with early learning services
  • Support parents and whānau to build better relationships of understanding around learning support and establishing points of contact if needed

To be considered for the position, applicants must be a NZ registered teacher, and have if not all, most of the following:

A commitment to te ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi that is actualised in your pedagogical leadership, practise and culture of care.

The ability to work collaboratively with ākonga/students, kaiako/teachers, teacher aides, whānau and external agencies including RTLB to support the learning journey of ākonga in ways that recognise their identity, language, and culture

The ability to form effective collaborative relationships with other LSCs and senior staff

Met professional standards relevant to their current position.
