The role

Sport Waikato is seeking an experienced, ideally teacher-trained, leader; someone not afraid to challenge the system, who can build strong relationships to drive positive change. Your mahi will build teacher confidence, challenge the status quo, and provide teachers with the tools to use health and physical education as a driver for greater wellbeing in kids. You’ll be tasked with providing advice and customized support to enable positive change in the tamariki’s communities, this includes strategizing with schools to develop systems that will contribute to an active and healthy school culture.

You will liaise with boards, principals and senior leadership teams to foster a culture of learning and development within the education community.

The person:

Do you have a depth of knowledge in the health and physical education curriculum within a primary school setting? If so, then this is the role for you! We’re looking for an individual who can lead change in the school setting while influencing at different levels to get the best result for our tamariki. You will be an inquisitor, someone who can be critical in their approach to analyse the effectiveness of a school’s approach to physical activity including the health and physical education curriculum delivery.
