Are you an outstanding teacher excited about working with kids with high potential to achieve extraordinary things?

For over 25 years, we’ve been making the magic happen for gifted learners across New Zealand. Currently, over 700 children from over 280 schools participate in our MindPlus programmes each week in our dedicated learning spaces or online, using our specialist NZCGE curriculum. We’re on a mission to ensure all Kiwi kids who need us can access our support, regardless of their parents' income, and in a way which respects their cultural identity.

We have an opportunity for an educator to join us for 2 days a week in our Christchurch unit in a face-to-face role working with 2 small, mixed-age classes of gifted learners.  This could be a new career direction for you or equally a chance to build specialist gifted expertise for a few years before returning to mainstream.

You will be a terrific teacher who:

  • Connects with young people
  • Enjoys differentiating learning for diverse students
  • Works collaboratively as part of a team (face to face and by distance)
  • Is well organised
  • Is happy to take on project leadership roles from time to time eg in course design, assessment,
  • Communicates well with whānau and communities

Being a specialist gifted organisation we would ideally like a teacher with experience and/or qualifications in gifted education but we will support your learning journey about giftedness and provide training in our specialist curriculum, wherever your starting point.

Two other essential requirements: Current NZ Practising Certificate (full 1 or 2); fully COVID-vaccinated.

Position commences week beginning 17 January with teaching beginning the week 7 February.

How to apply

We are looking forward to hearing from you. If you have questions about the role, please get in touch and we can chat. Please send your CV along with a cover letter, and/or direct enquiries to:
