Intermediate team/learning leader

Taipa Area School is excited to be in the position to employ a dynamic leader of learning for our intermediate school. We are seeing a significant increase in the number of students who are joining Taipa at Y7–8. This has put our school in a great position to add another teacher with a leadership capacity.  The intermediate currently has 3 teachers and enhances the learning of 80 students. The vast majority of these students whakapapa back to the iwi of Ngati kahu. Our school vision clearly embraces our local history, culture and language.  

The successful candidate will have strong curriculum knowledge and pedagogical expertise at an intermediate level. The successful candidate will also be able to lead, encourage and support teachers in progressing our students closer to achieving our school vision.

Taipa is a great place to live and work! During 2020 building work enhanced the school with 7 new teaching spaces (4 intermediate classrooms) and a full size gym. Our current building projects will add a further 12 classrooms to our school. Students now enjoy the view of the ocean from our new Ki o rahi field and skateboard park.
