Our wonderful centres are responsible for providing quality early childhood education services to our youngest learners (up to 6 years of age). The role of the area manager is to oversee each centre’s operations in order to achieve the goals of each Centre’s Strategic Plan and to ensure financial success, legislative and regulatory compliance and overall business success. This is a pivotal leadership role to support our Head/Team Leaders, Teachers, work with families, government agencies such as MOE & ERO, WINZ and Community and keep the children in our care ‘Love, Learn and Laugh’. This role ensures effective day-to-day running of each centre and directly reports to the Directors/Owners.

To step into this well cared position, you will have a commitment to our values and the following skill set:

  • Registered qualified teacher, strong background in ECE and excellent pedagogical teaching
  • Proven leadership experience, integrity, collaborate and team building, problem solving and ability to teach and mentor the Kaiako and work with the children
  • Excellent customer service, active listening, showing professionalism
  • Time Management, ability to prioritise, organise and set goals, plan and delegate, stress management, carrying out administrative duties in an efficient and timely manner
  • A growth mindset and a focus on identifying and growing potential within your team
  • Excellent communication, in all communication modes, verbal, nonverbal, written and visual.
  • Attention to the details, an ability to maintain high accuracy and thoroughness when executing tasks
  • Commercial experience, the ability to understand what makes an organization successful
  • Well versed in Childcare Management software, ECE Finance and funding knowledge, ECE Regulations
  • Reflecting the Code of Professional Responsibility and Standards of the Teaching Profession as set out by the Education Council in Our Code, Our Standards
  • Flexible to travel regions between Bay of plenty and Hauraki districts
