Sadly, due to our amazing junior teacher relocating to another region, we have an amazing opportunity to join a fun, relaxed, professional team. We have an opening for a 0.8 teacher in our junior classroom (Y1-3).
We are a beautiful small rural primary school for Y1–8 tamariki.
We use a Structured Literacy approach, so experience in this would be favourable
We have two classrooms and 38 tamariki.
We are a very close knit community and whanaungatanga is the foundation of everything we do.
We have a special needs student in the class who is supported by a teacher aid. Experience with Downs Syndrome, Autism and ADHD would be highly valuable.
We are an Enviro School and run the Garden to Table programme and we value authentic learning experiences outside the classroom.
We are a FUN but professional team.
This is an amazing opportunity to those teachers who understand and believe that touching a child's heart with empathy and kindness is paramount BEFORE they can learn. "We reach them before we teach them"
We have very high expectations of behaviour and as a result, very low behavioural incidents.
Our tamariki are fortunate to have the 'Ka Ora Ka Ako' Free Lunch in Schools programme - cooked on site.
Teachers use PACT to assist OTJ's and reporting against the curriculum levels.
We have a continuous reporting cycle using the HERO Platform.
We raise chickens, we have guinea pigs, a class rabbit (giant flemish), a water dragon and the children all help in their care.
Don't miss this opportunity to join a team like no other!
Supportive, fun and we all hold the child at the forefront of everything we do.
We live by our vision: "Growing Happy and Successful Learners"
