Purpose of the Role
The regional manager is responsible for regional leadership and direction to support the provision of high-quality ECE at the 40 Playcentres located in the Lower South Island region. You will work collaboratively to ensure national consistency in service delivery, and to ensure all centres are supported to achieve in the most appropriate manner to their communities.

Details of this Role:

Permanent, part-time position, 30 hours per week, based at the Lower South Island Regional office in Dunedin.


Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Working with National and Regional staff to support learning development and plan availability of sufficiently qualified people at each centre
  • Demonstrating confidence and commitment, leading by example, demonstrating and modelling Playcentre philosophy
  • Managing regional expenditure ensuring effective, efficient and ethical use of financial resources
  • Familiarising yourself with Playcentre policies and procedures and supporting adherence to these within the region
  • Support the promotion of te ao Māori.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in a related field is preferred
  • Proven experience in leading, managing and motivating teams
  • Knowledge of ECE legislation and licensing requirements and good practice
  • ECE or Playcentre experience or knowledge is desirable
  • Comfortable in a leadership role; displays honesty, discretion, sensitivity, self-discipline and resilience
  • Proficient in working collaboratively
  • Flexibility to travel and work remotely as required from time to time.
