This position is for a Y1 team leader (leading 2 or 3 others) and is made available to a person with the following qualities and skills:
Places a high value on building strong relationships with ākonga, fellow colleagues and our whānau
Has the ability to relate well to all cultures
Has proven experience working within a collaborative setting and is comfortable leading a collaborative team. We are looking for a person who has shown that they can work alongside other people well, and are flexible
Is an innovative practitioner with experience/background in learning through play
Rich experience and knowledge of the Literacy Curriculum - this will be an area that the person will help lead across the school
Ability to grow and develop with the growing school
Has shown that they are a hard worker, reflective, adaptive and have a growth mindset
Has a great sense of humour to go along with our highly collegial staff.
Has a strong understanding of the NZ Curriculum, and may bring other skills to the curriculum role.
The appointed person will be released, along with our four other team leaders, one day a week, where they will work closely as a leadership team on the strategic goals of the school, and their literacy portfolio across the school.
We will provide 2 permanent units for the team leader role and 1 fixed-term unit for the literacy portfolio.
