Evaluation Associates is a New Zealand-wide company with recognised expertise in a range of education consultancy services. We seek a highly motivated and capable educational leader with skills to support principals/ngā tumuaki to impact positively on student outcomes.
Evaluation Associates has been contracted by the Ministry of Education to provide an individual support service for principals, with focus on beginning principals/ngā tumuaki.
We have 33 leadership advisors supporting over 400 beginning principals/ngā tumuaki and additional experienced principals across the schooling sector from primary to secondary. In each region leadership advisors are supported by a regional management group made up of Evaluation Associates representatives, the regional Ministry office and local principal associations.
We seek a leadership advisor part-time to support the service for secondary principals primarilyin the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. This appointment commences as soon as possible after 24 January 2022 and until 31 December 2024. While we seek someone to work approximately 0.6 FTE, we will consider a different FTE.
The successful applicant will:
have recent successful school principal experience in New Zealand secondary schools or kura
have the disposition and demeanour which garners principals' trust and confidence and can effectively coach principals to develop in their leadership
have strong commitment to honouring Te iriti o Waitangi and to supporting beginning principals/ngā tumuaki to achieve success in their new role and raise achievement for every student
have interest in supporting experienced principals with targeted and tailored support
be open to learning and growing professionally
be a team player and collaborate with the wider leadership advisor team, the Ministry of Education, local principal groups and other stakeholders
be a clear communicator (oral and written)
be able to coach leaders in their leadership inquiries and problem-solve issues
be confident with IT and use of a range of applications.
