W.E.L.C are looking for soon-to-be qualified or qualified kaiako to become new members of our centre whānau. This is an exciting opportunity to join a down-to-earth, family orientated whānau who believe relationships are the foundation for learning and aspire to co-construct our curriculum with the tamariki while ensuring it's enriched with aroha, planned and spontaneous real-life experiences, teachable moments and exploration.

  • $29–$32 per hour, for beginning teachers, provisionally registered
  • $32–$38 per hour, for fully registered experienced kaiako
  • Support and mentoring programme
  • Hours are flexible
  •  A variety of shifts available between 8am–5.30pm, school hours are a possibility to suit your family needs
  • Paid registration, paid meetings, professional learning and development and non-contact
  • Flexible start dates available between October 2021–February 2022
  • Weekly non-contact (4 hours)
  • Small profile lists ( 4-6 children)
  • Low ratios.

It's important to us that our kaiako have a love for respectful practices, a good knowledge and passion for extending the learning of our tamariki. Respectful relationships are at the core of what we do, so we need a teacher who can develop strong connections between tamariki, whānau and our existing kaiako and ensure everyone who enters our premises feels safe, secure and valued.

If this sounds like you, please feel free to pop into the centre for a visit to meet the team.
