We are seeking a New Zealand registered teacher to lead learning support at Gate Pā School. The successful applicant will have a proven record as a quality classroom practitioner. They will have the ability to engage effectively with staff, students, whānau and various agencies to identify and meet the needs of learners, to enable them to access services they need to progress, in ways that recognise their identity, language and culture.
This role will involve:
Ongoing collaboration with senior staff including alignment of tasks to school-wide strategic goals
Refining/developing school-wide systems to identify and support students with additional needs
Supporting teachers to accelerate student progress (tier 1)
Coaching and mentoring of learning assistants (tier 2)
Overviewing, facilitating and initiating tier 2 programmes
Data collection and monitoring of the progress of identified students
Working collaboratively to identify and apply for individualised support (tier 3).
This is a fixed-term position attracting 1 fixed-term unit for the 2022 school year. Terms and conditions negotiable, this includes whether the position is 0.8 or full-time.
