Little Footsteps – John Street is a small privately owned centre with a mixed-age license. We have high staff to child ratios and a focus on children's individual learning needs. Every family has a whānau caregiver whose job it is to form great relationships with the child and their whānau. 

Our ideal candidate requires the following criteria:

  • A diploma or bachelor of teaching (ECE or Primary)
  • Current NZ teacher certification
  • Current first aid certificate
  • Able to demonstrate current knowledge of curriculum (Te Whāriki), pedagogy and assessment 
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for tamariki learning 
  • Contribute to the development of a reflective professional culture

They will possess the following attributes: 

  • Have a desire to make a difference in children's lives
  • Be a team player and like to have fun
  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Be forward-thinking and have a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Be positive, friendly and have an outgoing manner
  • Be motivated and passionate about the environment. 

This position will be 30 hours a week minimum, between 7.30am–5.30pm.
