Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Kura o Porritt! Our school, consisting of 380 learners, is a dynamic, diverse and enjoyable place to teach and learn.

We are a future-focused, learner-centric school that believes in the power of collaboration, collective voice, and the importance of the learner as an individual.

We are in an exciting space, and are moving toward a more responsive future in education for our tamariki.

We are looking for a positive, experienced, innovative leader to join our leadership team, our staff group, and our wider Porritt School whānau in Term 1, 2022. This is a fully released deputy principalship.

As a leader, do you model:

  • A love of continual learning and growth?
  • The ability to build effective, empathetic relationships with students, whānau, staff and community members?
  • Diverse curriculum knowledge?
  • Excellent communication skills?
  • Leadership courage through open and robust professional dialogue?
  • Creative thought and a knowledge of innovative approaches?
  • Cultural intelligence and equitable practice?
  • A top sense of humour and the ability to have a laugh?

If you are ticking some boxes and would like to know more, we invite your contact, and your potential application for this role. You will be well supported and have the opportunity to grow and extend your capacity within this leadership role.

Strengths in digital technology, te reo Māori me ōna tikanga, curriculum design, growth coaching, and equitable practice are desirable, though not essential.

We would love to hear from you, and would strongly recommend you visit to get a sense of our kura and where we are heading.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the senior leadership team, and our staff group, to inspire and grow others to provide for the needs of our tamariki. We are excited about this next stage in our school’s leadership journey.

Tiro atu ki te pae, mauria atu tō korowai.
Look forward into the horizon and prepare.
