Due to continual roll-growth we are seeking an additional full-time guidance counsellor to join our exceptional wellbeing and pastoral care team to provide targeted counselling support and to engage with wider networks and wrap-around services to benefit our learners as we head into our sixth year of operation. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of the nature of counselling within schools; empathy and understanding of our unique learning context and the ability to relate to Y7-10 learners with diverse needs.

The applicant must be a registered and certificated teacher with the Matatū Aotearoa (the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand) with a counselling qualification and NZAC membership.

Experience or a background in social work contexts could be an advantage but is not essential.

Join us in delivering the New Zealand Curriculum the way it was intended. We are a school that values hauora and recognises the vital nature of this within learning. We are constantly iterating our challenging and dynamic localised curriculum model and need innovative, adaptable, ‘can do’ thinkers who can collaborate within and across diverse teams.

Ideally you will need to visit and find out how things work to determine if our environment is right for you.

Please tell us your passions and strengths and the ideas you bring for our on-going growth in student wellbeing services. An opportunity to join an energetic team of staff and just over 800 learners across Y7–10.

To start term 1, 2022 or earlier by negotiation with the successful candidate.
