Cambridge High School (CHS) is a co-educational school, established in 1883, with a roll of approximately 1,750 students.  Cambridge is in the heart of the Waikato region and serves the interests of the community incredibly well, meeting the varied academic, trades, cultural and sporting needs of our students. Places at CHS are highly sought after with families choosing to move into town to gain access to the school.

Our TIC of Music has received a study award for 2022 and this creates a vacancy for passionate Music teacher to join the Arts Faculty at CHS. The staff are very experienced and supportive providing the ideal opportunity for new or experienced leaders to transition into this important role in the faculty.

The ideal candidate will have a working Knowledge of Sibelius, Garageband, Logic Pro X, PA systems, and recording technology. They will also bring an experience in teaching senior Music programmes and an understanding of project-based learning environments. An ability to play the piano, brass and saxophone is an advantage. An interest in developing their culturally responsive pedagogy and engage with Matauranga Māori in a music context is important.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of the itinerant music scheme and the ability to work with our itinerant teachers and extracurricular groups.

This is a full-time fixed-term position for the 2022 school year.
