Kindergarten kaiārahi / centre manager

Full-time, with the possibility of job share.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to manage our established kindergarten, lead our committed kindergarten teaching team and engage with our supportive whānau.

This kindergarten has two kindergarten locations on the Kāpiti Coast, (Raumati and Paekākāriki) 45 minutes from Wellington, with up to 80 children on the roll and is part of Te Rā Waldorf School, a state-integrated, Waldorf primary school. It is a licensed early childhood centre, aligning with the Te Whāriki Early Childhood Curriculum. As a Waldorf kindergarten, it is part of Te Rāwhiti’s special character to provide a nurturing and unhurried early childhood experience for our children, letting them blossom in their world of fantasy and imagination which they explore through play, thus supporting their individual development, well-being and resilience. The kindergarten kaiārahi/manager will be a part of the combined senior management team of kindergarten and school (www.tera.school.nz), and part of the whole teaching faculty.

This role requires a wide range of experience and skills, including:

  • Indepth professional knowledge and experience as a registered teacher in the early childhood setting
  • Leadership and management experience and skills
  • Knowledge of and/or commitment to learn about our special character and Waldorf pedagogy
  • Knowledge of and/or commitment to learn about te Tiriti o Waitangi and bi-cultural practice.
