This position is a permanent full-time teaching equivalent (FTTE) using the Primary Teachers Collective contract, based for 0.5 at Papatoetoe South School and 0.5 at Papatoetoe West School.
We are looking for experienced teachers holding a current practising certificate, who have the ability to manage learning support, drawing together whānau, agencies, specialists, ECEs and kura.
The learning support coordinator will work alongside schools to help identify and meet the needs of learners, to enable them to access services they need to progress, in ways that recognise their identity, language and culture. The successful applicant will have the ability to work positively with staff, students, whānau and various agencies. This is a coordinating role and requires the incumbent to work alongside and engage with kaiako/teachers to support the development of their practice in working with children with a range of learning support needs. They will support learners, and their parents and whānau. The job description will be slightly different in each of the schools.
