Due to our growing roll, we are looking for an inspired and passionate teacher who has excellent knowledge of careers education. As part of our careers team, you will help grow our school-wide career programmes (curriculum, events and programmes) and help support and advise learners on their individual pathways. Please state all specialist subjects as this role could be expanded up to a full-time position depending on the successful applicant's specialist subjects.

You will form effective professional relationships with students, staff, parents and the community to support the careers team to deliver planned, progressive learning experiences that help students develop career management competencies and transition successfully through school and into further education or work.

Developing self, building communities and transforming futures through the Rolleston Spirit, is at the heart of everything we do at our college. As a teacher you will be passionate about both academic and personal success, be able to cultivate a learning community and have a desire to provide a genuine learner-centred education.

We work to provide contextual learning opportunities that provide our learners with choice and agency, while still gaining the necessary skills, knowledge and qualifications. We believe in the concept of AKO and that we are all learners. Collaborative practice is fundamental to our curriculum and philosophy as educators.

As a restorative practice school we believe strongly in building and enhancing positive professional relationships with our learners. All teachers are expected to be involved in our whānau system and are active in providing mentoring and academic counselling to students in a warm and demanding way.

Please apply. Start date will be 28 January 2022.
