We are looking for a two deputy principals who reflect our school values and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to join our team.

Given we have two deputy principal vacancies we have decided to group the qualities we are looking for as set out below.  Please note that we are flexible in what the makeup of each role could look like.

Our new deputy principals must be team players, open to learning, solution focused, culturally responsive, strong in their own identity and have excellent communication skills. The ability to whakamana others, connect with our Allandale School community and a willingness to participate and be actively involved in community activities is also advantageous. 72% of our students are Māori so an understanding of te reo Māori me ona Tikanga would be beneficial.

Role 1:

We are looking for someone with experience and attributes relating to: Student and Staff Well-Being, Engagement, Pastoral Care / Learning Support, Behaviour Management (PB4L & Restorative Practice) who are familiar with funding processes (ORS, ICS, IRF, RTLB, ESOL etc) and are prepared to work outside of school hours when required.

The ability to teach and role model positive relational & social skills, health education, as well as an understanding of kai sovereignty and the environmental opportunities available for tamariki and the ability to develop and consistently provide learning experiences for tamariki in these areas.

Role 2:

We are looking for a highly competent teacher with experience and attributes relating to: student achievement, teaching and learning, accelerated learning behaviours, planning and assessment, along with experience in school and local curriculum development.

The ability to plan strategically, co-ordinate teacher release, ancillary, duties etc ie. timetabling and an understanding of funding applications, bilingual pathways, transition and familiarity with Kāhui Ako processes is also advantageous.
