Haeata Community Campus is seeking a strong, dynamic educator to lead our Kura Weanga/Intermediate School. Are you that experienced, passionate educational leader? Do you have a proven track record in: raising ākonga /student achievement through the development and design of a strong, integrated local curriculum? Are you focussed on supporting ako/teaching & learning within a state of the art modern learning environment? Are you able to work collaboratively in a diverse educational setting to successfully transition akonga/students to a Kura Weanga/Intermediate School setting and from there on to Kura Tuarua/Secondary School?

This position offers you the opportunity to work in a culturally diverse environment with a focus on Te Ao Māori. The successful applicant will work alongside passionate and innovative kaimahi/staff dedicated to Kaupapa Māori principles of ako/teaching & learning.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a strong strategic focus on local curriculum design that ensures ākonga have choice, voice and autonomy in learning.
  • Have an astute understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi 
  • Uphold the values of Haeata Community Campus
  • Have evidence of successful leadership experience and the ability to nurture leadership capability in others
  • Have the ability to build and strengthen a collaborative team
  • Be confident and experienced working in an Kura Weanga/Intermediate School setting with strengths in interdisciplinary curriculum integration.

Start date by January 2022 or earlier by negotiation.
